    Description:


    A fast growing Semiconductor Distributor, is immediately looking for a field applications engineer to support their customers using Cavium Networks products.

    This is a high visibility, independent contributor position for uniquely qualified applicants.


    In this position you will provide pre and post-sales technical support to customers using Cavium Networks products with a focus on enterprise/consumer networking and security applications.

    This includes presentation of technical material at customer meetings, demonstration of embedded networking/security products and software development tools.

    Must be adept at working with customers at all levels, technical discovery of customer needs, solution recommendations, and managing many customer engagements simultaneously.


    Requirement:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering.
    • 8+ years of work experience in the field of 32b and 64b microprocessors & integrated SoCs (Preferably MIPS, ARM, or PowerPC).
    • Previous experience in either a technical support engineering or FAE role is desired.
    • Knowledge or Experience in:
    • Networking protocols, software, systems, and equipment.
    • C programming, troubleshooting, performance analysis in embedded systems environment.
    • OS internals, binutils and C libraries in Linux, UNIX, xBSD, VxWorks, or similar operating system
    • GNU tool chain, gcc, gdb.
    • Device Driver/API development.
    • Uboot bootloader porting.
    • Common microprocessor architectures and assembly language programming.

    Familiarity with:

    • Network security (IPSec/SSL) and/or Layer 27 applications.
    • Board bringup practices.
    • Debugging tools such as EJTAG debugger tools and other test equipment.
    • High speed communications protocols and interfaces such as XAUI, SGMII, PCI-X, PCI-Express, Serial RapidIO, SPI4.2, Interlaken, DDR2/DDR3 SDRAM, etc.
    • Datasheets and electrical / mechanical parameters.
    • Ability to support and engage with customers from engineering to executive levels.
    • Willingness to assist in both simple and complex technical problems.
    • Organized, Selfdriven and Customer focused.
    • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
    • Diligent, detailoriented, and willing to take initiative and handle assignments with minimal supervision. Inherent sense of urgency and accountability; able to multitask in a dynamic, fastpaced environment.
    • Effective interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills; able to interface internally and externally with all levels of the organization.


    Applicant must be able to successfully work remotely, be able to contact and follow up with customers independently; sometimes cold calling.

    Must be able to cross sell other company products.
