Senior Accountant opening to join a newly formed finance team.

Embark on a journey of growth through acquisitions and organic expansion This Senior Accountant needs strong audit qualifications and technical accounting abilities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities
Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and oversee month-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements.
Develop and refine workpapers to adhere to GAAP standards, providing a foundation for accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on analyses and special projects, contributing valuable financial insights.

Manage and oversee the accounts payable function of one of our business units, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and expense reports.

Play a key role in the migration to a new ERP system, overseeing data migration and system implementation.
Prepare schedules and documentation for the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and deadlines.
Implement audit recommendations and enhance internal controls to improve audit readiness and efficiency.
Qualifications
Travel once/month to Richmond, VA (2-3 days)
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
CPA preferred
