    Job Description and Duties

    Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.

    The Executive Office is recruiting to fill one Staff Management Auditor position located in Sacramento County.

    Under the general direction of the Audit Chief (CEA) and Assistant Audit Chief, the incumbent is responsible for leading, conducting, and supervising a small group of auditors in performing external audits for the department.

    Given the nature of the Audit Office, the incumbent is required to exercise the highest degree of initiative, independence, and integrity.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Travel throughout the State to conduct performance audits of various egg handlers registered with CDFA's ESQM program.
    • Plan, organize, supervise, and direct the work and day-to-day activities of professional auditing staff.
    • Work collaboratively with interdepartmental staff and control agencies on program audits.
    • Serve as the technical expert for ESQM audits and provide leadership and guidance.
    • Perform quality control reviews of audit workpapers and audit reports.
    • Write correspondence explaining government rules and regulations to organizations and department personnel.
    • Provide updates and presentations to the Shell Egg Advisory Committee.

    Working Conditions

    The incumbent works in a variety of environments equipped with standard office equipment.

    Travel by air, car, or other transportation systems will be required.

    This position requires up to 40% overnight travel with limited out-of-state travel.
