    JOB PURPOSE:

    The Performance Improvement Specialist is tasked with collecting and analyzing data to support established quality metrics, operational goals, and State and Federal regulatory compliance while creating strategies and supporting the implementation for performance improvement. This role also leads the oversight of process documentation and facilitates workflows aligned with the corporate strategic plan. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in project improvement design, quality improvement, process management, and outcomes management to support organization-wide quality improvement initiatives using a data-driven and evidence-based approach. The Performance Improvement Specialist collaborates with Quality leadership to develop and implement strategies ensuring objectives are met effectively.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Establishes and executes efficient project plans for coordinating, monitoring, and assessing the outcomes of performance improvement initiatives. This includes data collection and analysis, report writing, tracking project activities, and ensuring overall success.
    • Serves as a resource for basic data analysis. Develop summary reports and assist with the presentation of findings to various audiences.
    • Coordinates the agenda and meeting materials for the quality and improvement initiatives meetings that report to the quality improvement committee.
    • Abstracts pertinent information and enters it in determined databases for reporting and analysis.
    • Presents meaningful reports and analysis with measurement description, statistical information, and benchmarking information for quality improvement initiatives and projects.
    • Concurrently reviews and analyzes data and medical record documentation to ensure that compliance to quality indicators is met.
    • Provides basic analyses of key performance indicators and quality measures performance against established goals, quality, and desired/expected outcomes.
    • Utilizes results from performance improvement activities to identify and prioritize areas of focus for improvement. Evaluate and provide input on the effectiveness of performance improvement programs.
    • Manages metrics necessary to track project performance and processes in partnership with system data analysts.
    • Works independently to develop, implement, and manage projects; has knowledge of the principles and concepts of project management, including proficiency with relevant project management tools.
    • Communicates and executes standard roles and responsibilities for project team members.
    • Facilitates continuous cadence and structure of leadership and project team meetings with an emphasis on driving forward improvement towards QI program goals, as well as making problems, barriers, and results clear with a minimum administrative burden.
    • Prepare reports for presentation at various committees.
    • Adhere to company and department policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and produce results within deliverable timelines.
    Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

    Weekly Hours: 40

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education: Bachelor's degree in health care or related field.

    Experience:
    • 2 years' experience in a managed healthcare setting with Medicare and Medicaid programs and with experience working in quality or performance improvement.
    • Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft products Excel, including pivot tables and Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
    • Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies and principles (e.g. Plan Do Study Act (PDSA), barrier analysis, etc.)
    • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a talent for problem-solving and a natural curiosity for exploring solutions.
    • Ability to learn and apply use of databases for aggregation of data for analysis.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Accurate attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
    Physical Requirements

    Individuals must be able to sustain certain physical requirements essential to the job. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Standing - Duration of up to 6 hours a day.
    • Sitting/Stationary positions - Sedentary positions for up to 6-8 hours a day for consecutive hours/periods.
    • Lifting/Push/Pull - Up to 50 pounds of equipment, baggage, supplies, and other items used in the scope of the job using OSHA guidelines, etc.
    • Bending/Squatting-The worker must be able to safely bend or squat to perform the essential functions under the scope of the job.
    • Stairs/Steps/Walking/Climbing - Must be able to safely maneuver stairs, climb up/down, and walk to access work areas.
    • Agility/Fine Motor Skills - Must demonstrate agility and fine motor skills to operate and activate equipment, devices, instruments, and tools to complete essential job functions (ie. typing, use of supplies, equipment, etc.)
    • Sight/Visual Requirements - Must be able to visually read documentation, papers, orders, signs, etc., and type/write documentation, etc. with accuracy.
    • Audio Hearing and Motor Skills (language) Requirements - Must be able to listen attentively and document information from patients, community members, co-workers, clients, providers, etc., and intake information through audio processing with accuracy. In addition, they must be able to speak comfortably and clearly with language motor skills for customers to understand the individual.
    • Cognitive Ability - Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making, reasonableness, cognitive ability, rational processing, and analysis to satisfy essential functions of the job.

    $65, $75,000.00
