- Assist the attorney with preparing and organizing legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and motions.
- Conduct legal research and gather case-related information.
- Maintain case files and ensure all documents are filed appropriately.
- Schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in cases.
- Manage the attorney's calendar and keep them informed of important deadlines.
- Prepare and format legal correspondence and reports.
- Draft basic legal documents under the guidance of the attorney.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering phones and managing office supplies.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Paralegal certification is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in insurance defense or litigation is preferred.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
