Iowa Orthopedic Center recognized as a center of excellence, is actively seeking a motivated Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant to join our team Our full-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday - no nights, no weekends, no holidays Care for patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, and be an integral Back Office Team Member This role offers a dynamic and team-oriented environment focused on mutual support and improvement of patient outcomes.

    *The Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant assists in gathering data, documenting and preparing patients under direction of a physician. Pull x-rays and MRIs as needed via the computer; Assist patients with dressing, transport and transfers
    Assist with cast and splint application and/or removal
    Prepare equipment/instruments for autoclave as needed
    Document information in EMR; Call patients for upcoming appointments to obtain history and get items from different facilities as needed
    Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians and other staff

    Practices our mission each day which is to serve our patients the best way possible providing the best care possible.

    Minimum of six months related clinical experience and/or training
    ability speak to communicate the English language clearly and effectively
    Ability to hear in order to talk to patients and other team members on the phone or in person
    ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as physician orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
    Ability to document accurately and concisely patient's care in EMR and/or in patients chart

    May be exposed to chemical hazards, which include, but not limited to toxic substances, cleaning fluids, and disinfectants.
