Summary of Job Duties:
The Graduate Assistant (GA) for On-Campus Student Employment provides coaching and resources to connect students with on-campus employment opportunities. The GA also assists students in developing and articulating how their on-campus employment experiences prepared them for post-graduation opportunities. The position reports to the Associate Director for On-Campus Student Employment within the Offices for Career Connections.
The GA will meet with students to provide coaching and support in the on-campus job search process. The GA will collaborate with staff, faculty and students on initiatives relating to improving the campus employment experience. The GA will assist with communications and marketing (email, website, creating resources). The GA will aid in planning events and workshops on topics relating to on-campus student employment and be available for presentations outside of business hours on special occasions. This position will support initiatives related to the Federal Work Study program. The position will focus on first generation, first year, Arkansans who experience significant financial obstacles to attending college.
Position anticipated start date: Fall Semester 2024
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Enrollment in the Graduate College at the University of Arkansas

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience mentoring students
• Strong written communication skills
• Experience presenting to groups
• Experience with campus employment or working on a college campus
