**Data Warehouse Architect**

Development San Diego, California Minimum Experience **Mid-level** Compensation **$125,000 / Yearly** PURPOSE

NextGen Leads wants to build a new data warehouse solution in order to give our sales, marketing, and executive teams the ability to leverage new and existing data for reporting and business insights.

SUMMARY

The Data Warehouse Architect position will be responsible for researching and recommending data warehouse technologies as well as building out a modern data warehousing infrastructure from the ground up. Once the data warehouse solution has been built, the Data Warehouse Architect will work with various stakeholders to create optimized queries and reports that can be used to gain valuable business insights. This is expected to be a six (6) month contract with the possibility of becoming a regular, full time position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Researching and recommending the use of various data warehouse technologies.

Building a new Data Lake and Data Warehouse solution utilizing the recommended technologies.

Connecting NextGen Leads existing data sources with the new Data Warehouse solution.

Conducting ETL of new and existing data sources to ensure all data is available for use in reporting and business intelligence applications.

Working with the sales, marketing, and executive teams to write optimized queries for business intelligence reporting.

Building and maintaining reporting dashboards using third party tools such as Looker, QuickSight, or Tableau.

Troubleshooting and resolving critical issues with the data warehouse that may arise during off hours.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience building a data warehouse solution from the ground up.

Experience with an event streaming platform such as Kafka.

Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or SQL Server (We use MySQL).

Experience with NoSQL databases such as Couchbase, RethinkDB, or MongoDB (We use RethinkDB and Couchbase).

Experience working with the AWS cloud infrastructure and services such as S3.

Experience working with big data technologies such as RedShift.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
