    Position Summary Information

    Objective


    To directly contribute towards completion of external and internal reporting functions of the Institutional Research and Effectiveness unit by analyzing data, generating reports/visualizations, and otherwise responding to information requests.

    Will additionally provide supervision, project management and training support to members of said unit.

    Bachelor's degree

    • 5 years related work experience.

    Principal Accountabilities

    Principal Accountabilities

    Provide project management, supervisory and training support for Institutional Research staff.

    Principal Accountabilities


    Extract data from student information system and other sources to perform statistical analyses and meet external reporting requirements (e.g., THECB, IPEDS, SACSCOC).

    Compile and analyze information from surveys, student information system, and other sources (e.g., assessment results, etc.) using descriptive (e.g., averages, percentages, etc.) and inferential (e.g., t-test, regression, etc.) statistics.

    Communicate research results to relevant parties within the College District to facilitate decision making and support institutional effectiveness processes (e.g., program review, continuous improvement, strategic planning, etc.) using narrative, tables, and graphs as appropriate.

    Create and administer course evaluations and other surveys using online survey tool; generate survey reports using online tool.

    Verify accuracy and consistency of data prior to dissemination.

    Train end users on use of software tools related to data reporting and analysis (e.g., Argos and MS Excel).

    Assist in development of key performance indicators for the College based on strategic objectives and other considerations; maintain key performance indicators ensuring up to date information.

    Develop and maintain data visualizations on business intelligence platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).

    Participate in professional conferences and other learning platforms to enhance knowledge of the higher education and Institutional Research industry.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree.

    • 5 years experience in Institutional Research in Higher Education.

    Experience with data analysis.

    Experience of SQL and relational databases.

    Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite.

    Experience with ARGOS Enterprise Reporting.

    Experience with Business Intelligence Platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).

    Minimum Qualifications

    Proficiency with MS Excel including query functions and pivot tables.

    Experience managing multiple projects, reports and other tasks.

    Knowledge of survey platforms (Blue, SurveyMonkey, Qualitrics, etc.).

    Ability to lead the IRE team in absence of the Director.
