    Job Description

    The Research Compliance Administrator, under direction of Director of Research Regulatory Compliance (DRRC), conducts site visits to evaluate and address compliance matters and works with investigators and committees on protocol submissions and documentation and approvals. Provides training and coordinates standard office procedures (SOPs) with office processes.

    Responsibilities:
    • Manage Research Compliance email service requests from faculty, staff, and students in a prompt and timely manner. Coordinates with Director of Research Regulatory Compliance (DRRC) to develop policies and guidelines for institutional committee review and approval including developing or modifying SOPs and office processes. Tracks and facilitates coordination with other programs, offices, and processes. Maintains current SOPs and ensures processes are followed through periodic review with office procedures.
    • Under the direction of DRRC, conducts site visits to ensure compliance with approved activity plans and applicable regulations. Works with facility managers and investigators to maintain study and housing location compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Instructs and assists investigators with protocol submissions and compliance documentation using knowledge of institutional guidelines and Federal regulations. Mitigates issues throughout the application process. Prepare accurate and timely monthly minutes for IRB, IBC and IACUC Committee approval. Provide post review and inspection feedback to investigators and facility managers and ensures deficiencies are corrected.
    • Prepares and delivers training presentations to investigators, other offices, and new staff. Works with the DRRC to administer the planning, development, and integration of ongoing regulatory training programs.
    • Monitor and approve research compliance items in the Maestro Electronic System. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
    Required Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Five years of related experience.
    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
    • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
    • Strong communication and organizational skills.
    Special Requirements:
    • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of nine years of experience.
