    Brief Description of Duties


    Under the general supervision of the Pathway Directors for the Division of Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning, the Program Coordinator assists in planning and coordinating the day-to-day educational activities and operations for the Pathway to which they are assigned.

    The incumbent plans and carries out the successive steps and handle programmatic and student-related matters in accordance with instructions, policies and approved division-wide practices.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Plans, coordinates and assists in managing Pathway programs located at the Division for Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning. These programs include those regulated by their respective licensing and accrediting bodies.

    Assists in establishing courses and program offerings consistent with the strategic plan for the division and the pathway.

    Assists in selecting, writing, editing, and assembling course materials for pathway programs.

    Develops and organizes training manuals and course material.


    In consultation with the Pathway Director, responds to requests to provide summaries of data, records and/or progress reports on Pathway programs and services.


    Researches and provides continuous up to date information on changes to licensing agencies, accrediting bodies and other legislative regulations as it relates to Pathway programs.

    Supports the management, monitoring, and tracking of all partner and student activities and data collection (e.g. pathway students employment outcomes and partner employment offerings)

    Reviews and evaluates non-credit and informal education programs for quality performance and compliance with division standards.

    Coordinates program offerings, courses and ongoing training's for Staff and Instructors


    Confers with management to conduct surveys identifying Student and Staff training needs based on projected production processes, changes and other factors.

    Evaluates instructor performance, effectiveness of classes and training programs; provides recommendations for continued improvement.

    Develops outcomes assessment strategies for non-credit and informal/enrichment education programs.

    Coordinates and participates in pathway-specific and division-wide Student (and Partner) outreach, admissions, retention/persistence events, activities, and processes.

    Identify additional professional developmental opportunities for instructors and teaching staff.

    Participates in meetings and conferences, as necessary.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Job Requirements

    Associate's degree minimum education or Bachelor's degree in affiliated field (preferred)

    At least two (2-3) years of experience with emphasis on curriculum development, student and faculty success, and retention

    Veterans Preference:

    Visa Sponsorship:
    At this time, the University of the District of Columbia does not provide sponsorship for visas (e.g. H-1B). This position is also ineligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT).


    Residency Preference:


    A person applying for a position who is a bona fide District resident at the time of application for the position, may be awarded a 10-point residency preference over non-District applicants, unless the person declines the preference points.

    If selected, the person shall be required to present no less than 8 proofs of bona fide District residency on or before the effective date of the appointment and maintain such residency for 7 consecutive years from the effective date of the appointment.

    Failure to maintain bona fide District residency for the 7-year period will result in forfeiture of employment.


    Drug-Free Workplace:


    Pursuant to the requirements of the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, the individual selected to fill this position will, as a condition of employment, be required to notify his/her immediate supervisor, in writing, not later than five (5) days after conviction of any criminal drug statute occurring in the workplace.


    Background Investigation:
    Employment with the University of the District of Columbia is contingent upon a satisfactory background investigation.

    The determination of a "satisfactory backgroundinvestigation" is made at the sole discretion of the University of the District of Columbia.

    The University may refuse to hire a finalist, rescind an offer of employment to a finalist or review and may terminate the employment of a current employee based on the results of a background investigation.
