RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Education For Persistence & Innovation Center at Teachers College, Columbia University (2022- Present)
● Examining the construct of life purpose and how we refined/defined our purpose across our life span. By analyzing and transcribing over 50 Nobel Laureates' autobiographies on their personal achievements, failures, & struggles this ideology of refined purpose demonstrates that once a clear specific purpose in life is established, we are more likely to achieve our goals and have enhanced performances even through failure and challenging contexts. In addition, I assist in the recruitment of research participants; Collect and analyze data for preparation of reports and conference papers; Contributed to research including literature search and management data collection and recording data cleaning and analysis; Administered tests of cognitive ability.
Mind in Culture Research Lab (MiC) Participatory Action Research (PAR) (2019-2021)
● Explored Bronx Community College students' sense of belonging in the context of their immediate and broader communities. In this participatory action project, we employed photography, writing, and mapping to explore the role social institutions, political structures, and broadly held beliefs play in shaping students’ notions about their own communities. In addition, I listened to and established rapport with research subjects; performed data analysis and extraction; produced and presented reports.

Additional responsibilities include helping teachers with lesson plans and classroom management (especially integrating career readiness components) facilitating chefs’ needs, ordering and receiving food and supplies weekly; connecting participants to workforce development coordinators for employment, linking participants to the social services case manager for referrals; planning, organizing and delivering orientations and completion ceremonies; facilitating participants’ achieving food handler and other credentials; assisting with grant management including enrollment and outcomes; managing participant records; and setting up evaluation processes including surveys and advisory meetings
