Salary Range:
$90,000 - $115,000Our diversified family of companies provides specialized forestry management, disaster recovery services and low-impact environmental restoration services to commercial, private, not-for-profit, municipal and government organizations

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all operational accounting related to our newly formed California office. Areas of focus include project billings and costing, accounts payable, payroll, purchase orders, forecasting and analysis.

This position will work closely with tree service, utility, lumber processing, and corporate teams, and a focus on teamwork will be a key to the employee's success.

Duties:

Review job cost and revenue ledgers for accuracyProject forecastingCalculate job cost accrualsPrepare unit-based, T&M, and percent complete client billingsCreate spend analysis related to CA office and projectsRespond to request for research and analysis related to current or past projectsManage incoming invoices by scanning and posting into electronic AP inbox for processingReview and apply coding to expenses and job costsAnalyse subcontract invoices and make payment recommendationsMaintain site check register and request additional funds when necessaryCreate purchase orders in Vista for appropriate approvalsReview processes and procedures and make recommendations to promote efficiencyAct as a liaison between regional operations and corporate as appropriateOrganize and provide required insurance data related to GL, auto, and work comp auditsProvide work papers for quarterly income estimates and annual returnsDevelop and prepare profitability reporting by business unitReview, input, and upload hours to payroll as neededReview, and work with Payroll to correct if needed, CA certified payroll reportsPerform other position related duties as specified by managementSkills/Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experienceJob costing experience preferredSolid understanding of accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and reviewExperience with Vista accounting software a plusMS Office Suite – Intermediate to advanced skill within all MS Office programs.

Intermediate to advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP) data manipulation requiredExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsHighly motivated, energetic, and result oriented professionallyExcellent written and verbal communication skills in areas such as: negotiating, presenting, listening, questioning, and overall exceptional interpersonal skillsExcellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skillsAbility to prepare effective reportsAbility to travelPayroll experience a plusKnowledge of applicable import and/or export processes and business standards

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
