    Job Summary

    Manages the delivery of ambulatory patient care, which typically includes nursing, and may include laboratory, radiology, dental, etc. Facilitates the flow of patient care activities; may also participate in practice or center management operations. Manages the delivery of care to Pulmonary, Interstitial Lung Disease and Sleep Disorders clinics.

    Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

    For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

    Department Description

    The Pulmonary/ILD and Sleep clinics are high-volume clinics serving the adult population for a variety of pulmonary and sleep disorder conditions. Our services include office visits, RN triage, airway clearance teaching as well as other procedures such as Pulmonary Rehab, Pulmonary Functions, Injections, Sputum Induction and Pentamidine.

    Required Qualifications

    Flexibility to work on site at different UCSF campuses. This is not a remote position.

    • Strong clinic / center patient care management skills. Practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and / or information technology. Broad knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services
    • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making
    • Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration, and consistent achievement of objectives
    • Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes
    • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments
    • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently
    • Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic / center healthcare industry
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
    • 2 recent years in outpatient management
    • 3 or more years in leadership role
    • Ability to work multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's Degree preferred

    License/Certification

    • Registered Nurse in the State of California
    • BLS
