- Support the planning, execution, and successful completion of The Pacific-Stanford PRIMED program working with the MPIs and involving multiple disciplines.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the study meets all research objectives and timelines, collaborating with various teams at UOP, Stanford University, and National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR).
- Collaborate with and supervise the program research administrator.
- Oversee the management of the Pacific-Stanford "Biobank," facilitating patient sampling and clinical assessment for academic, research, and commercial use.
- Develop and enforce robust policies and governance structures for the management of Biobank, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory guidelines and ethical standards.
- Establish a program of non-commercial and commercial clinical studies.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with industry leaders, technology companies, and start-ups to foster innovation and research collaboration.
- Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders and collaborators within the healthcare and tech sectors.
- Work with Dugoni School of Dentistry, University of the Pacific, and other collaborators to develop and deliver a research and innovation strategy to deliver health tech innovation programs.
- Promote knowledge sharing and transfer of research findings within the organization, contributing to the growth of institutional expertise.
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive procedures for clinical trials and studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
- Stay abreast of evolving regulations and industry best practices to update and enhance research policies as needed.
- Develop and implement regulatory policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), research delivery and recording documentation, and clinical research best practices to ensure research compliance and integrity.

- Establish a governance structure for clinical trials and research initiatives, including ethics review boards, data monitoring committees, and oversight bodies.

- Collaborate with the Dean, Assistant Dean for research, Dugoni School Centre for Innovation and Translation Director, and other partners on strategic projects to expand research partnerships, programs, and innovation delivery.
- Contribute to the development of MBA programs and other strategic initiatives.
- Embed research within the Dental Curriculum offered at UOP.
- Participate in and prepare documents and materials (for example, reports, presentations, information packages) for meetings and negotiations with potential industry, government, and other partners. Coordinate with marketing and communication professionals within the University's research teams to craft stories and social media content to promote our faculty, staff, facility, equipment, and other resources to support research.
- Identify and approach potential industry and other research collaborators in the San Francisco area and surrounding markets. The process to identify research partners may include collecting, compiling, verifying, and analyzing research, financial, competitive, marketing, and other information to evaluate research interests, needs, and funding capacity with the University's resources, interests, and capacity. The approach to potential partners may include emails, phone calls, approaches at conferences, and "warm" introductions from university faculty, staff, or others in the school's network.

Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose
Under the supervision of the Director, Center for Innovation and Translation, responsible for spearheading strategic programs around clinical research education, innovation, and translation into practice, and help in delivering the ground-breaking Pacific-Stanford PRIMED Program. The role will involve building robust research and innovation coalitions, securing funding for research and innovation, and attracting business development activities, particularly within the non-commercial and commercial entities, including health tech and start-up sectors. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare through strategic leadership and collaboration, by joining a team at the forefront of transformative healthcare research and innovation.
The position has an expected duration of 5 years however is contingent upon continued availability of grant funding. May be renewed if sustainable funding sources are identified.

Hiring Range
