This is a one-year contract position and may be subject to change based on project needs and supervisor/manager discretion. The position is flexible: a combination of onsite and remote work. Onsite location is 480 16th Street, San Francisco, CA 94158.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.
The PRHE Science Associate in the Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment (PRHE) is responsible for contributing substantive science and policy work to an innovative academic program on research translation focused on environmental health at the University of California, San Francisco. The position is within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences and will report to the Associate Director, Science & Policy in PRHE. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in environmental health sciences, public health, occupational health, epidemiology, toxicology, systematic review methods or related field as well as knowledge of and practice in, environmental health science and policy in the United States. The PRHE Science Associate will have a publication track record in the peer reviewed literature and demonstrate a high level of written and oral communications skills specifically in communicating with scientists and non-scientists.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
