- Nursing Process:

- Ensures plan is discussed with patient, family/significant others, and completed in a timely manner.
- Revises plan based on patient condition and progress evaluation.
- Ensures care meets standards of practice and effective discharge planning.
- Documentation:
- Charting is accurate, legible, dated, and timed.
- Utilizes computer systems effectively and efficiently for optimal patient care.
- Clinical Outcomes:
- Discusses patient findings and progress toward outcomes with physicians and other members of the health care team.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and makes nursing decisions based on data interpretation.
- Workplace Safety:
- Adheres to Workplace Safety principles and practices.
- Applies standard precautions and maintains a safe environment for self and others.
- Patient Care Experience:
- Practices customer service standards and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Ensures clean, orderly, and functional work environment and provides optimal patient care experience.

- Effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and assists others.
- Takes accountability for own actions and acts as a resource to team members.
- Participates in departmental professional development and keeps informed of unit activities.
- Fiscal Responsibility:
- Organizes work efficiently, identifies areas for improvement, and utilizes resources effectively.
- 1-year recent full-time equivalent experience in L & D or completion of a relevant course within the prior 12 months.
- Registered Nurse License (California).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Basic Life Support.
- May be expected to cross train to other Perinatal areas and scrub as required.
