JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the Warranty Review Center's daily activities, including all warranty claim authorization and statistical activities.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages daytoday operations of the Warranty Review Center. Supervises staff, including performance review of claims analysis based on policy and procedure standards. Implements efficient processes for evaluating warranty claims. Provides guidance and training to team members.
  • Reviews warranty claims exceeding staff's authorization limits. Confirms warranty claims are submitted in accordance with Isuzu's service policies and procedures. Communicates with team and dealers as necessary for clarification of submitted warranty claims.
  • Monitors and reports on key performance indicators. Collaborates with other departments to address complex warranty issues. Ensures all warranty claims are reviewed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manages review process of warranty related publications, from draft circulation to distribution of final product.
  • Identifies system problems and enhancement potential and supports the warranty system for correction and improvement.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and best practices in warranty review. Performs miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to: Executive Manager, Service Planning &Warranty Operations (ISZA)
  • Direct reports: Warranty Specialist

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Automotive Technology or equivalent directly related work experience
  • Minimum five years experience in warranty with a domestic or leading import manufacturer
  • Minimum three years supervisory experience

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Technical knowledge to understand various phases of automotive repair
  • Warranty accounting knowledge
  • Must be familiar with local, state, and federal laws governing dealer warranty administration requirements

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills

PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
The employee must be able to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer.

This is primarily a sedentary position in a controlled office environment which requires only occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports or records, typically weighing 5 lbs.

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Interprets and executes policies that typically affect subordinate organizational units. Recommends modifications to operating policies.
  • Responsible for managing staff function or heads a centralized functional activity. Accomplishes results through lower levels of supervision or through experienced exempt levels of employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.
  • Monitors work operations on a daily basis and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required. May perform, especially in staff or professional groups, ongoing tasks of organizational units. May function as an advisor on all projects and tasks assigned to the organizational units under supervision.
  • Frequent contacts with interorganizational and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects or contracts. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning specific operations.
  • Requires minimum of five years of related experience.
Pay scale for this position is between $92,161 and $117,505. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
