    Reports To: Recreation Facilities Coordinator

    Wage: Starting between $ $20.00 per hour


    The Building Attendant is responsible for the coordination and daily supervision of activities, programs and events held at various sports complexes, buildings and shelters throughout the City of Waukesha.

    These include, but are not limited to the Rotary Building, Schuetze Recreation Center, EB Shurts, Buchner Community Room and more.


    Tentative Work Schedule
    Late afternoon/evening weekdays
    Weekends, Saturday & Sunday
    Additional Hours during the week are available


    • Supervises and oversees scheduled activities for WPRF during late afternoon/evening weekdays and weekends.
    • Responsible for inventory of supplies needed at facilities.
    • Supervises facilities during programs, including opening and closing, continually evaluating programs and staff, promoting a fun, safe environment for all activities, enforcing all park and program rules.
    • Follows procedures for customer feedback and follows through with supervisor.
    • Ensuring general safety of all participants by responding to emergencies, documenting accidents, and following emergency action plans (EPA) for weather related incidents.
    • Will coordinate with supervisor and grounds maintenance staff to determine whether games are playable regarding weather/grounds conditions.
    • Reports incidents, injuries and facility damages to supervisor in a timely manner, while following departmental protocol.
    • Maintains files of correspondence, forms, records, reports, and other materials in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
    • Potential for visiting multiple facilities and fields during a single shift to ensure all WPRF activities are running smoothly.
    • Performs other tasks as requested or needed
    • Experience in and/or knowledge of sports and recreation.
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
    • Ability to communicate, be courteous and cooperate with other staff and the public.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to operate computer software and other office equipment.
    • Certification in First Aid and CPR (WPRF will provide if not).
