    Information Technology Support Specialist A

    Job Description Summary


    ISC's HireIT Services team provides best-in-class IT service delivery in a matrix environment to more than 1200 clients across a diverse collection of campus organizations.

    The position will interact daily with clients who have varying levels of technical expertise and provide them with top-tier support and consulting; this requires a combination of sound independent judgment, a professional demeanor, strong communication skills and superior technical ability.

    The ultimate goals of our IT specialists are to form trusting professional relationships with our clientele; analyze functional requirements and advise clients; as well as coordinate resources in support of clients' diverse business goals.

    Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. This position may be required to work evenings and weekends on occasion.

    Job Responsibilities


    Provide excellent customer service through configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technology issues on HireIT Intake (phone, email, ticket management system).

    Contribute to IT projects and coordinate resources in support of clients' diverse business goals. Quickly absorb information of all types in order to fully understand Penn's diverse computing environment.

    Generate documentation in order to support changes, teach new concepts, and document policies and procedures.


    ISC will provide the resources needed to stay on the cutting edge of the technologies we support, and foster professional development opportunities.

    In return, our IT Support Specialists must demonstrate a curiosity for technology, aptitude and eagerness for learning, and willingness to collaborate with clients and colleagues

    Actively participate in campus-wide project teams, task forces, and user group meetings.


    Successful candidates have an excellent track record of providing customer service and are team-oriented professionals looking to begin or continue a rewarding IT career at Penn.

    Qualifications


    Required:
    Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.


    Experience providing technical support for contemporary client operating systems (Macintosh and Windows) and productivity applications, preferably in an academic computing or professional services environment.

    Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to present technical materials clearly.

    Ability to work with a wide variety of clients and colleagues, delivering exemplary technical support.

    Ability and commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive materials.


    Preferred:
    Skills and experience in multimedia, audio-visual, or information security a plus.

    Proven sound independent judgment and a solid work ethic.

    Experience configuring, deploying and supporting client systems in a highly managed environment.

    Ability to work collaboratively with others to produce best possible outcome.

    Ability to thrive in a client-centric, technically-focused environment

    Ability to adapt to a changing and variable work experience.

    Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
