Job Description
Responsibilities include coordination of the documents required to run the production floor and release product to the customer, assessment of documentation requirements for new and ongoing projects, providing input to the Production Scheduler for prioritizing the activities of the production floor. Responsible for ongoing contact with Project Managers, Account Coordinators, Printing Department, Documentation Department, and Label Technician for each customer regarding issues related to documentation, materials release and packaging requirements. Will participate in customer visits and host plant tours. Approves packaging associates work hour in Kronos and verifies production information entered into QAD by the Production Supervisors. Will replace Production Scheduler and/or Production Supervisors in their absences or as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Study the production schedule to ascertain the documentation required to run the next packaging jobs on the schedule. Provides the production floor with documentation (i.e., work orders, batch records, print mats, and shipper labels) needed to package the jobs on the production schedule.
• Interface with Project Managers, Account Coordinators, Production Scheduler, Printing Department, Documentation Department, and Label Technician to resolve problems associated with the timely release of documents needed to run the packaging floor.
• Facilitate the flow of print mats from the Printing Department through Quality Assurance to the Moser printing operation and prioritize the Moser printing schedule.
• Study production orders to ascertain type and quantity of product and other packaging requirements.
• Prioritize the Moser printing schedule to meet the production schedule needs.
• Assist the Production Scheduler in setting shift priorities for packaging operations on the production floor.
• Perform final review of the batch record documentation for the Operations Department before turning the batch records into Documentation Department for final review and approval.
• Approve the work hours for the packaging associates in Kronos.
• Collect the "Down Time" sheets from the Production Supervisor's and verify the information on them is correctly entered into Mfg/Pro.
• Oversee the lab coat and uniform program for the facility. Interface with the outside laundry service vendor and resolving any gowning supply issues.
• Oversee the company supplied combination lock program for the facility. Issue Company owned combination locks to employee while maintaining an issuance log and facilitating resolution of any lock related problems.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
• Observe packaging operations. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving production related issues/problems.
• Review batch record documentation for the Operations Department before turning the batch record into Documentation Department for final review and approval.
• Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintain time and production records. Approve the work hours in Kronos for the packaging associates. Collect the "Down Time" sheets from the Production Supervisor's and verify the information on these sheets is correctly entered into Mfg/Pro by the Supervisor's.
• Confer with supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Fill in for Production Supervisors and Production Scheduler when required.
• Assist the Production Supervisors as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 20 to 60 employees in the Production Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ERP systems, Lotus Notes and Time and Attendance software.
