    Description

    A family-owned full-service real estate company doubled in size and created a new role. The company specializes in hospital and medical commercial space. You will work with real estate financial professionals who foster team building, individual commitment, and personal growth. You will be a part of creating an environment where professionals are treated fairly and are highly motivated to succeed.

    You work on a team handling bank reconciliations, month end close, journal entries, and assisting with ad-hoc projects for the real estate portfolio.

    Title: Staff Accountant

    Location: Bronx, NY (1 day remote & 1/2 day Friday)

    Salary: $60,000 – $75,000

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to the Senior Accountants assigned to the portfolio real estate assets
    • Prepare monthly workpapers for balance sheet accounts and budget comparison income statements
    • Maintain the general ledger
    • Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
    • Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts
    • Calculate monthly management fees.
    • Provide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
    • Prepare financial statements for annual filings with various municipalities.
    • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
    • 1 - 3 years of experience in Accounting/CPA firm or Audit
    • Strong analytical skills + Excel skills
