Position Summary: Provide direct nursing care to patients in various clinical settings. Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures while serving as a positive role model. Care assignment may be required for a variety of age groups.

Patient Safety: Adhere to patient safety policies, procedures, and protocols. Demonstrate proactive approach to improve patient safety by questioning current policies and processes.
Development: Enhance professional growth by participating in relevant educational programs, attending meetings and workshops, and keeping up-to-date with latest literature.
Environment: Maintain safe and comfortable environment for patients in accordance with hospital standards.
Patient Care: Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients. Implement and document care plans using age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching. Administer medication and assist with tests/procedures as necessary.
Medical Records: Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information.
Inquiries: Answer telephones and triage calls according to departmental policy.
Participation: Participate in orientation and assume precepting/evaluation duties as required.
Patient Centered Care: Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicable.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience: 1 year directly related experience.
Credentials: Current CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification required; RN in New Mexico or reciprocal state required; preferred: nationally certified in specialized area, PALS, TNCC and/or ENPC.
Physical Conditions: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
Working conditions: Work may involve handling chemicals and bio-hazardous materials requiring PPE.
