    Job Description Salary:

    Sanctuary Recovery Centers of AZ is the premier treatment facility in Arizona.

    We provide sober living for those in need of a structured, program-oriented, sober living environment while in the early stages of recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction.

    Residents get the support and tools needed to transition back into society while renewing responsibilities to themselves, their families and their community.

    Drug abuse treatment plans not only help addicts detoxify in a safe environment but also assist them through all stages of the recovery process.

    There are multiple types of treatment options available for drug abuse, including inpatient care, residential treatment, and outpatient programs.

    We offer a road map to find an inpatient drug rehab center for people struggling with the financial, physical and emotional cost of addiction.

    We are searching for caring, qualified professionals to join the Sanctuary team for full time support at our facility in Phoenix.

    Our professionals put client care first by providing hands-on care to individuals with varying degrees of mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities.

    Sanctuary is currently seeking an independent and detailed Billing Specialist with a strong commercial background including out-of-network collections.
    Responsibilities

    • Attendance / Census
    • Billing Insurances and Clients
    • Collections, including denials and appeals and reconsiderations
    • Payment Posting – Manual & Auto
    • Client statements and collections to include processing credit card payments and managing payment plans
    • Review and work correspondence
    • Scanning documents onto client's accounts
    Requirements
    At least 3 years Arizona Medicaid and Commercial Out-of-Network Experience
    At least 3 years of experience in

    behavioral health

    or medical, integrated care preferred.
    At least 3 years of experience with 835 and 837 files.
    Advanced Denial & Appeal Skills
    Intermediate Excel Skills
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Experienced to handle all matters related to billing, payments, and medical insurance filing for behavioral health medical facility.
    Professional interaction with clients and staff
    Submission of timely health insurance claims
    Preparation and mailing of client's bills, and collecting and applying payments received
    Experience with medical coding and terminology
    This position also requires the specialist to act as a middleman between clients, clinical staff, and insurance companies.

    They review client charts and use a uniform list of medical codes to create a medical transcription of medical history, office visits, and treatments.

    They pass this documentation on to healthcare providers and insurance companies who use it to bill patients for the correct amount.

    Full Job Description:


    The billing specialist position is to lead a team towards comprehensive, accurate billing & collecting of Behavioral Health claims to maximize reimbursement.

    This position is responsible for the complex billing and collecting of Behavioral accounts in accordance with CMS Rules and Regulations, payer guidelines and Sanctuary policies and procedures.

    Education

    :

    Requires a high school diploma or GED.
    Experience

    :

    Must have at least three (3) years of hospital billing and Medicare collections experience.
    Prefer experience with Behavioral Health collections.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    :

    Must have current knowledge of AHCCCS Behavioral Health and CMS rules and regulations.
    Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet designated deadlines is required.
    Must be able to manage time appropriately.
    Data comparison skills are necessary.
    Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
    Must have knowledge of hospital billing forms and billing requirements.

    Must have experience with Medics premiere or the billing side of Kipu.
