- Manages financial transactional activity for accounts payable, ensuring that payables are processed and recorded both timely and accurately in accordance with organization policies and GAAP.
- Ensures that payments are supported by proper approval.
- Reviews and approves invoices in NetSuite.
- Ensures that direct assistance payments are processed on time.
- Maintains and assists in the development of policies and procedures for accounts payable processes.
- Reviews designation of 1099 consultants and verifies supporting information is available.
- Processes the Search and Debarment of new vendors.
- Maintains the vendor file.
- Assists on special projects as assigned.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of process improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field required.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with experience in accounts payable.
- Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Experience with accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
- Detail-oriented.

POSITION SUMMARY:HIAS seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to maintain accounting records and process invoices. The Accounts Payable Specialist maintains accurate database/records on all financial transactions and disbursements and ensures these are properly coded.
Note, this is a temporary position that starts ASAP and ends December 31, 2024, with possible extension. The salary range for this position is $65, ,000.00, and this position is contingent upon a pending funding agreement.
