    Description


    Summary The Sales Manager – Used Equipment will focus on ensuring the Used Equipment Department achieve and/or exceed sales goals in alignment with organizational initiatives.

    This position uses technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to develop the Used Sales Representatives implement and maintain the department's long-term strategic plan while maximizing revenue generation.

    This position also supports the Used Sales Remarketing Center to achieve sales goals. This position also supports the Used Sales Remarking Center to achieve Sales Goals. DUTIES

    Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure excellence in stakeholder satisfaction.
    Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of the company's Leadership tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with the Vision, Values, and Mission
    Collaborates with the VP – Used Equipment Sales, Product Support Manager and management throughout the territory in order to achieve organizational goals
    Responsible for sales forecasting and ongoing strategic sales planning under direct guidance of VP
    Manages, coaches and mentors sales representatives to include goal setting/evaluation of individual performance
    Maintains and expands customer base by communicating and advising Used Equipment Sales Representatives, building and maintaining rapport with key customers, and identifying new customer opportunities
    Assists in assigning used-trade valuations and maintains accurate pricing of equipment within all related programs
    Provides direction and support to the Used Equipment Evaluators and Used Equipment Service Team
    Delivers sales presentations with key clients, maintains relationships to aid in negotiations and closing deals
    Notifies the Used Equipment Marketing staff when machine listings, descriptions, and presentations are needed
    Collaborates with the new inventory sales team in order to support the sale of new equipment to a customer selling their used equipment to the Company
    Works with other departments resolving any issues regarding used sales invoicing, accounting, finance, legal, etc
    Serves as a liaison between sales department and other sales related units
    Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
    Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition and provides recommendations and strategic opportunities to leadership

    REQUIREMENTS
    High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree in related field preferred
    Minimum of five years of related experience required; eight or more years' preferred
    Knowledge of CAT products and the Heavy Equipment Industry
    Knowledge of business principles, budget preparation and strong business acumen
    Knowledge of current system, business applications and data analytics
    Advanced and functional knowledge of DBS, Uptake Sales Applications, and other applications
    Knowledge of sales techniques, financial, credit, and accounting principles
    Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products – Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
    Overnight travel may be required up to, but not limited to, twice per month
