    Performance Engineer | Renewable Energy (Solar) | Connecticut, USA (On-Site)

    My client is seeking a talented Performance Engineer to join their team in New Haven, CT, to contribute to the optimization of their renewable energy systems. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of my client's renewable energy systems. You will be responsible for analyzing and improving the performance of their solar energy installations through data analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct regular performance analysis of solar energy systems to evaluate efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
    • Utilize monitoring tools and software to collect and analyze data related to system performance, including energy production, weather conditions, and equipment performance.
    • Investigate deviations from expected performance metrics and develop strategies to address issues such as shading, equipment malfunctions, and environmental factors.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to implement performance optimization initiatives and resolve performance-related issues.
    • Develop and maintain performance models and simulations to predict system performance under various conditions and inform decision-making processes.
    • Generate performance reports and present findings to internal stakeholders, including management, project teams, and technical staff.
    • Stay informed about advancements in renewable energy technology and industry best practices related to performance optimization, and integrate new methodologies into my client's operations as appropriate.

    Experience Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Proven experience in performance analysis and optimization of renewable energy systems, with a focus on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach to identifying and resolving performance issues.
    • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
