    Description

    Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking an additional neurologist/epileptologist with expertise in directing an epilepsy surgery program or leading an epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) to join their team of three epilepsy neurologists. LVHN has been acknowledged as a Level 3 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers since 2010, working towards achieving a Level 4 designation as a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. The multidisciplinary team at the Center comprises fellowship-trained neurologists in epilepsy, a functional neurosurgeon with fellowship training, neuropsychologists, a social worker, experienced advanced practice professionals, and nursing staff, collectively providing comprehensive care for epilepsy patients.

    Available leadership roles include serving as the medical director of the epilepsy surgery program or overseeing the EMU, depending on qualifications and interests.

    LVHN boasts a dedicated 24/7 four-bed EMU offering long-term video EEG monitoring (LTME), while their 14-bed neurointensive care unit is fully equipped for LTME. The network provides onsite and remote EEG review services, interpreting over 8,000 studies annually, including 1,300 long-term monitoring studies.

    The LVHN EEG lab has earned accreditation from the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) and introduced an on-site EEG technologists training program recognized by ABRET. Completion of this program enables trainees to pursue EEG registration, supported by a team including an EEG certified Lab Manager, EEG certified Lab Educator, and a group of certified EEG Technologists.

    Neurology at LVHN has demonstrated substantial growth, now comprising over 35 neurologists, 20 advanced care providers, and several ACGME-accredited programs, such as a neurology residency program, clinical neurophysiology fellowship, neurocritical care fellowship, and vascular neurology fellowship. The four neurocritical care neurologists deliver cutting-edge care in the dedicated 14-bed Neuroscience ICU, under the direction of Dr. Steven L. Lewis, Editor-in-Chief of Continuum: Lifelong Learning in Neurology.
