- Project Engineering: Develop detailed specifications, construction of prototypes, research for new products, and current product enhancements.
- Set up and run product testing and protocols in accordance with project plans.
- Research suppliers and materials needed for products.
- Provide status reports.
- Ensure product documentation is in accordance with the Quality Management System requirements.
- May work directly with Q'Apel's customers to ensure product design, user interface, and integration activities needed for products.
- May provide customer training to assure products designed by Q'Apel are understood.
- Design prototypes and product modifications in response to customer feedback.
- May be required to lead or contribute to the process of transferring design into the manufacturing environment from development.
- Perform job functions in a safe and effective manner.
- Provide engineering testing and documentation that complies with regulatory requirements for regulatory approval or clearance by FDA or other international regulatory bodies.
- Support the Quality System and Quality Policy. Be aware of Quality System procedures and requirements, including regulatory requirements, and training requirements for the position. Communicate concerns involving product quality as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Interest in the medical device industry, preferably in the Neurovascular/ Vascular device industry.

- Enrollment in an accredited college/university during the intern period - Required.
- If in College, then actively pursuing at least, a bachelor's degree in related academic major - Required.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future – Required.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Internship - Required.
- Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities is preferred.
- A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 is preferred.

Who We Want:
Q'Apel Medical is recruiting interns for Summer 2024 based out of HQ office in Fremont, CA. This internship program will provide a comprehensive learning and professional experience in the Research & Development space.
Intern positions are full-time opportunities expecting to last ~2.5 months, from mid-June start to mid-August 2024. This in-person position is available to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors at an accredited college/university during the intern period. We work in a "Onsite model". This means that you will be asked to report on site at our HQ in Fremont throughout the week. If you are selected for an internship role, you will work directly with your manager as your start date approaches to confirm your exact schedule.
What You'll Work On:
Primarily responsible for contributing to the design, development, and manufacturability of neurovascular/ vascular products in accordance with the company's Quality System and customer requirements. The role is multifaceted and varied; it requires technical knowledge for assigned projects or products to assure the design and development process is followed and will include but is not limited to design, development, verification and validation testing, transfer to manufacturing, and continuous enhancements/ improvements to the products.
