Rivian: Sr. Equipment Engineer, Cell Mixing: Palo Alto, California October 2021
● Patient: Fast batch mixer for electrode slurry mixing
● Design and commissioning of R&D labs, pilot line (0.1GW), and mass production(1GW) line for Li-ion battery slurry mixing. Ramp equipment
from design, FAT, SAT, commissioning and SOP to full capacity production. System includes bulk powder handling systems, pneumatic
conveyance systems for low and high-density raw materials, solid and liquid feeding systems (<0.02%wt accuracy), binder mixing (anchor, HSD
and mill type mixers, <1% dead zone) systems, electrode slurry mixing (double planetary mixers <0.15% dead zone) systems, bulk slurry
conveyance, and storage systems, design for dust collection and post-processing system, SOO & SOP design, and process control parameters.
● Design and scale up for mixing lines to reach 3.5GWh and 11GWh production, Next-generation batch and continuous mixing lines (fast batch
mixers, high throughput continuous mixing lines).
● Design to meet CalOSHA, & internal safety laws for safe and ergonomic systems. Perform PHA, HAZOP, and FMEA for designed lines.
● Develop factory layouts (30% footprint reduction), pipe layouts(6% slurry waste reduction), duct layouts, tool install, and tool PM plans (40%
time reduction) for pilot and mass production tools.
● Lead for team Intership program,HC analysis, budget analysis, and international vendor management to help facilitate the project.

● Facilitated designing, prototyping, testing & commissioning equipment for powder conveyance in cell manufacturing. Troubleshoot
conveyance lines & finding solutions for equal conveyance on feeders. Conduct & assist in developing structural plans, cutsheets, PO,
maintenance & installs.
● Designed components for pneumatic conveyance line & facilitated sensor requirements & installs. Conducted vibration & harmonic studies,
pressure tests & load cell calculations/optimization. Worked closely with OEM, vendors & researchers towards developing equipment &
directed contractors on installs. Continues development towards electrode powder mixing techniques & handling temperature.
● Work contributes in scaling up for mass production. Studies conducted help in understanding the system dynamics and improvements.
Actasys: Manufacturing and Design Engineer: Brooklyn, New York September 2020- January 2021
● Facilitated designing, simulating, manufacturing and testing assemblies capable of deploying actuators for company projects.
● Designed & prototyped a static, linear & rotational deployment assembly for the actuator using 3D printing and selective laser melting.
Conducted experiments on assemblies under different temperatures, pressures, loads, stresses & orientations for improving
aerodynamics, heat flux, fluid flow & mechanical properties.
● The data collected helped modify and improve the assemblies. The final designs were approved and are currently in implementation for the
