**Job Description**
Eurofins Abraxis has a new opening for a Food Safety Sales Manager - in the United States
The Food Safety Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving quarterly and annual sales plan by identifying and closing new business at food companies, commercial, governmental (local, state and federal) and university food safety and testing labs throughout the territory. Eurofins Abraxis product portfolio includes test kits and instrumentation for: allergens, pesticides/herbicides, pathogens, GMOs and mycotoxins . Core platform technologies include Immunoassay (ELISA), Lateral Flow (Dipstick, Strip Test), Enzymatic (Acetylcholinesterase), Latex Agglutination Tests (LAT), Receptor Binding Assay (Nicotinic-acetylcholine receptor), Protein Phosphatase Inhibition Assay (PPIA), and Magnetic Particles for DNA/RNA isolation.
To be successful, the Food Safety Territory Sales Manager will partner with the Eurofins Abraxis customer service, marketing/product management, technical service and applications/R&D team members to develop and implement a regional and strategic account sales plan to grow the focused product business. Reporting to the Director, Food Safety and Life Science Sales and Marketing, this role is responsible for sales (direct and through channel), sales forecasting, marketing feedback, best practices development, ongoing training and development, reference site development, and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities.
**Additional Responsibilities**
The Food Safety Territory Sales Manager is responsible to have command of Eurofins Abraxis strategic direction for the food safety markets and to be able to communicate that strategy to the customer. Using this knowledge, demonstrate the value messaging of the assigned product portfolio to be consistent with the needs of the customer.
Is fully competent in relevant food safety applications and serve as the Eurofins Abraxis application, test kit, and capital equipment expert and to drive sales of Eurofins Abraxis complete current testing portfolio and any new solution portfolio to be introduced in the near future.
Develops and implements a regional and strategic account sales plan involving multiple stakeholders across the laboratory/plant/agency/business for designated Eurofins Abraxis instruments and reagents.
Identify and close new accounts, attain or exceed the overall sales plan for Eurofins Abraxis product portfolio within the assigned territory
Call on prospective customers, create demand, communicate product benefits, deliver product information and demonstrations, prepare proposals and quotes within company guidelines and provide basic system installations and customer trainings as needed.
Develop and implement sales and marketing plans, including customer profiling, targeting and call schedules, to ensure achievement of all sales objectives
Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with all Eurofins Abraxis personnel to achieve regional objectives through the communication of successful tactics and recommendations for continuous improvements in procedures, strategies, and specific processes.
Work with key support staff, such as the Applications Specialist and other technical support team members, to develop and implement key account evaluation plans and to update colleagues on a quarterly basis or more frequently as appropriate.
Generate leads and sales by participating in state, regional, and national meetings as directed by the Director, Food Safety and Life Science Sales and Marketing. Activities include pre-meeting display setup if necessary; meeting support, post-meeting display disassembly as needed
Participate on cross-functional product launch teams. Work closely with the other Eurofins Technologies sales and marketing team members to gather and share best practice information
Actively participate in all training sessions and demonstrate proficiency by testing or other means as assigned at session completion.
Manage administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget (free goods/samples), timely administrative and call reporting, funnel and competitive data entries, use and maintenance of Company assets and adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions, as applicable, and all consistent with Eurofins Abraxis Company policy.
Respond to problems or opportunities which arise in account either by securing the assistance and support from others in the organization or by personal action.
**Qualifications**
BA/BS required; Life Sciences/Applied Sciences or Business areas preferred; valid drivers license.
5+ years documented successful sales experience required; 3+ years selling to domestic and/or international food safety market preferred;
Previous experience with food safety reagents/kits/system sales involving complex, technical, solution-selling situations preferred.
Proven track record in developing new customer business on a yearly basis.
Must be self-motivated to succeed and operate effectively without extensive support or close supervision from the Director, Food Safety and Life Science Sales and Marketing.
Computer proficiency is required, including skills with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Experience with CRM Software (Maximizer, , etc.) preferred.
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of current U.S. food safety monitoring/testing trends that can be integrated into regional sales strategies.
Demonstrated strong organizational, territory management, account assessment and relationship development skills.
Demonstrated analytical thinking abilities with financial orientation applicable to contract proposals and profitability, budget, and expense management.
Ability to adapt to changing markets and or territory conditions while maintaining all objectives and/or goals.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and strategically to achieve individual and business goals.
Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as purchase agreements, financial reports, professional journals, package inserts, technical procedures, and government regulations.
