    Description


    Do you have a heart to help and a head for numbers? Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to lead their efforts in securing funding for low-income housing projects.

    The ideal candidate will be adept at creating capital stacks through a combination of grants, tax credits, and innovative financing mechanisms.

    This individual will play a crucial role in identifying and securing resources to support our client's mission of providing safe and affordable housing options for low-income communities.

    Knowledge of low-income tax credits, Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), and non-profit financing is highly desirable.

    This position will be part of the team leading a new effort within a non-profit to create affordable housing for those in need.

    This is an outstanding opportunity to build this group from the ground up.

    As the Finance Manager you get to be creative and work in partnership with the Development Director to develop and implement comprehensive funding strategies to support low-income housing projects, including the creation of capital stacks comprised of various funding sources.

    You will also identify and pursue opportunities for grants, tax credits, and other forms of financing to maximize project funding and ensure financial viability.

    Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation for funding applications and proposals.
    Process monthly construction draws for timely payment of contractors and consultants.
    Ensure conditions of financial documents are fulfilled during the project development.
    Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with lenders and funders to support long-term partnerships.
    Perform and coordinate day-to-day accounting functions to include preparing monthly financial documents and reconciliations.
    Prepare and submit annual operating budgets.
    Stay abreast of changes in relevant regulations, policies, and best practices in low-income housing finance and funding.

    We are looking for someone who enjoys finance and accounting, has phenomenal analytical skills, professional foresight and is excited to continuously improve processes to efficiently tackle new challenges.

    In addition, our preference is you have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance field with a strong understanding of housing tax credits, CDBG funding and other financing mechanisms relevant to affordable housing development.
