This is a Merit Hire position
Hourly Rate:
$21.87 per hour.
Dauphin County Drug & Alcohol Services is currently accepting applications for the
full-time, day shift position of Prevention Specialist.
The employee hired for this position provides direct prevention services as mandated by the six federal strategies to the community and school districts in Dauphin County.
These duties will include being a drug and alcohol liaison to the student assistance teams in all 11 school districts, which includes attending core team meetings, performing assessments, parent-teacher conferences, and other SAP related school events.
Education and prevention activities are performed throughout the Dauphin County Community during traditional and non-traditional hours. This position is stationed in the Northern Dauphin Human Services Center. This position is supervised by the Prevention Program Supervisor.Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements
A bachelor's degree in health education, education, the social or behavioral sciences or related fields and one year of experience in drug and alcohol prevention work.
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training and a bachelor's degree in health education, education, the social or behavioral sciences.
Other Requirements
At the time of hire, a valid driver's license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required.
An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver's license under 67 PA.
