Description
The city of Essen is looking for a specialist in the Lower Waste Management Authority, responsible for technical waste management tasks in the Department 59 - Environmental Office. Salary group 11 TVöD | Full-time | Permanent | Application deadline: | Reference number: TD

The position can also be filled with part-time employees.

You will strengthen the team at the Environmental Office in the following tasks:

  • Monitoring of waste producers and disposers according to the Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrWG) including other environmental regulations (in particular BImSchG, WHG) as well as sub-legal regulations (in particular the End-of-Life Vehicle Ordinance and Electrical Equipment Act)
  • Research and verification of commercial waste producers as well as on-site inspections of illegal operations
  • Occasional monitoring of illegal facilities and measures within the scope of hazard prevention
  • Interdisciplinary cooperation with the "Task Force Illegal Trade" of the Public Order Office
  • Technical support for waste-related opinions in building and emission control procedures
  • Participation in environmental emergency preparedness
  • General administrative tasks
