- Current Windows Desktop Operating Systems knowledge. MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook email.
- Computer troubleshooting knowledge.
- Basic understanding of IT troubleshooting techniques.
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure.
- Any IT certificates is a plus.
- Supports and maintains user and office IT equipment.
- Monitors the Help Desk system for user support requests.
- Triages user tickets and implements solutions based on user impact.
- Communicates with user to fully understand issue and provide an ETA for resolution.
- Supports problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to manager or technical staff.
- Updates Help Desk System logs throughout user resolution activities and maintains historical records.
- Will support user issues both on-site and through remote connections for remote employees.
- Maintains Desktop documentation and data images.
- Consults with Tech Team as necessary to resolve issues and suggest process improvement recommendations.
- Contacts software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products and will coordinate resolution.
- Contacts software and hardware vendors to request quotes for new hardware/software requests.
- Creates PO Requests for software and hardware devices and submits to manager for approval.
- Retrieves software and hardware purchases from shipping and installs the purchases as required.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of user and office IT equipment and recommends replacements based on current procedures.
- Configures hardware and installs necessary firmware, patches and software based on current standards.
- Installs software onto user computers as required and based on current standards.
- Sets-up new users by creating network account and application logins.
- Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work. Evaluates compatibility of new software or hardware with existing infrastructure.
- Maintains user "On-Boarding" and "Off-Boarding" procedures.
- Writes or revises user training manuals and procedures.
- Writes, reviews, and maintains IT Department technical operating and installation procedures related to computers, infrastructures, databases, and standard software products, including but not limited to Microsoft products.
