Pay-rate:

$ $19.06 **(based upon experience and education)


Shift:

Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (52 week year round position)


Every day as an Instructional Support Specialist you will:


  • Assist the children in your care with their individualized plans for daily life.
  • Support the children with classroom activities
  • Ensure the students are safe, healthy, and living in a clean environment.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of the client.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.

Qualifications:


EDUCATION:

High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Proficient communication skills. Proficient computer skills.
