    Job Description

    U.S.

    Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Database Administrator with data security and disaster recovery experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives.

    Manages physical databases on specific database technologies. Designs and implements back-up, recovery, archiving, and conversion strategies. Manages and maintains data definitions in all production and non-production databases and replication servers. Manages database distribution, security, and access requirements. Designs and develops logical and physical layers of databases. Handles testing, reporting, back-up, and restores. Provides technical assistance and mentoring to staff for developing conceptual and logical database design and the physical database. Recommends, installs, and maintains database software. Monitors performance and performs database training and assists application developers with train tuning efforts.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • At least 6 years experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data.
    Preferred Skills/Experience

    Must have a strong background in Database design (physical)

    Must have hands on knowledge in DB2 LUW, HADR, BLU Column Organized Databases, Unix, Shell Scripting, Cloud Migrations, OS level migrations, Db2 Version upgrades/patching

    SME in Relational databases and Data administration

    Knowledgable in Technical troubleshooting

    Experience with Query and database access tools

    Hands on experience in Database backup and migration

    DR strategies with both storage and database level replication

    Database structures

    Willingness to take on tasks beyond normal database administration


    The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
