Matern Staffing is hiring an Accounting Manager for a leading cast stone and architectural precast fabricator in Ladysmith, VA. The Accounting Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization through effective financial management, reporting, and control processes.

As the Accounting Manager you'll be a trusted partner with internal departments as you build process improvements, manage project billing and promote best practices to support the companys important infrastructure projects.

This is a direct hire opening with benefits as described below.

Salary: $75,000-$95,000/year

What You'll Do:

Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including preparing and analyzing financial statements, reports, and budgets
Ensure accuracy through balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry maintenance
Manage project billing (AIA billing format) and conduct cash flow analysis
Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and regulatory reporting
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP standards

What You'll Need:

Bachelors degree in accounting or finance (preferred, but not required)
Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role
Strong knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and practices
Proficient in balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and financial analysis
Experience with payroll processing, tax regulations, and regulatory reporting
Experience with (or Ability to learn) Accounting Software (Foundations)
Knowledge of GAAP standards and ability to ensure compliance
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
Strong leadership abilities with the ability to effectively manage a team
