Matern Staffing is hiring an Accounting Manager for a leading cast stone and architectural precast fabricator in Ladysmith, VA. The Accounting Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization through effective financial management, reporting, and control processes.

As the Accounting Manager youll be a trusted partner with internal departments as you build process improvements, manage project billing and promote best practices to support the company's important infrastructure projects.

This is a direct hire opening with benefits as described below.

Salary: $75,000-$95,000/year

What Youll Do:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including preparing and analyzing financial statements, reports, and budgets
• Ensure accuracy through balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry maintenance
• Manage project billing (AIA billing format) and conduct cash flow analysis
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and regulatory reporting
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP standards

What Youll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (preferred, but not required)
• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and practices
• Proficient in balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and financial analysis
• Experience with payroll processing, tax regulations, and regulatory reporting
• Experience with (or Ability to learn) Accounting Software (Foundations)
• Knowledge of GAAP standards and ability to ensure compliance
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong leadership abilities with the ability to effectively manage a team
