    Description
    The Opportunity:

    Are you passionate about solving complex engineering problems?     Responsibilities:

    1. Project Management: Lead, oversee, review, and execute structural engineering tasks for a variety of projects related to assessment and restoration design of concrete, masonry, steel, wood elements and structures. Engineering tasks include detailed design, calculations, and development of repair details and specifications
    2. Leadership: Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to junior-level team members, as follows: Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals; Delegate duties to junior-level staff to implement project goals, as needed; Oversee and conduct quality checks on variable aspects of projects, such as project schedule, deliverables, fees, invoicing, and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution; Mentor and train one or more junior-level team members.
    3. Communication: Productively interact with client representatives and SME subcontractors.
    4. Business Development: Help to enhance the visibility of SME's expertise. In this regard, participation in professional organizations outside of regular employment is encouraged
    5. Safety: Exemplify safe work practices and follow the company's compliance standards.
    Core Competencies:
    • Has competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, maintain accurate and detailed record-keeping skills, documenting field observations, safety concerns, and problem resolutions.
    • Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering positive working relationships, customer-centric approach to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
    • Must be able to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions.
    • Basic construction competencies including ability to determine location from surface features and landmarks by interpretation from surveys, road maps, aerial photos, topographic maps, and geologic maps; understanding construction stakes set by others, and color markings of utility companies.
    • Has a general aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field, utilizing critical thinking and logical reasoning.
    • Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work, strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, fostering a safe working environment for yourself and others.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to safely use and operate ladders and stairs, scaffolds, lifts and other equipment to access existing or under-construction buildings recording the necessary field data to conduct structural analysis and produce technical documents for building systems and components.
    • Ability to learn new concepts and adapt to challenges.
    • Ability to work overtime, including weekends on an as-needed basis.
    • Ability to work in an efficient and organized manner independently and with a team, as well as the desire for continuous learning.
    • Medically fit to use a respiratory protective device and other personal protective equipment.
    • Ability to work in varied environments as dictated by the project, for example:
      • Sitting and use of a computer for prolonged periods of time.
      • Work in confined spaces and at heights greater than six feet (potentially on ladders, boom lifts, and swing stages).
      • Work that may be conducted in a laboratory environment or in the field where exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, variations in temperature and humidity, fumes, and various types of equipment.
      • Travel locally and out-of- area; A valid driver's license (good driving record) and passport are required.
      • Possible limited international travel
