    The Lead Engineer, Structural is responsible for working underthe supervision of Senior Engineers to develop structuralengineering solutions to the design of buildings and otherload-bearing structures.

    Explore your tasks and responsibilities

    May lead a small team of Engineers and Designers, as wellas plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation ofdocuments or activities for a large project project or multiplesmaller projects
    Collaborates with other design disciplines and contractorsto support the development of design deliverables such asreports, drawings and specifications
    Reviews shop drawings and submittals
    Attends construction and design verification walks andsubmit report of observations
    Prepares structural engineering calculations and finiteelement modelling
    Analyses and designs complex structural systems of abuilding or other structure
    Coordinates structural models and drawings with the otherdesign disciplines
    Mentors other structural members of project teams
    Participates in the development of office standards andprocedures
    Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control onprojects
    Develops manpower and labor cost requirements for a projectand monitor them to aid in evaluating project schedule andbudget
    Other duties as assigned

    8+ years of experience
    Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) withStructural emphasis required
    Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) Degree fromABET/EAC accredited program is preferred
    Exhibit a professional demeanour and be a proactive problemsolver
    Demonstrate excellent communication skills along withrespect, tact and diplomacy, and ability to multi-task andthrive in a fast paced environment
    Exhibit characteristics of an emerging or developed leader
    Be capable of enjoying the work and keeping a positiveattitude in a challenging environment
    Total proficiency of structural finite element analysissoftware such as RAM and STAAD
    Working knowledge of Autodesk Building Systems Softwaredesign and delivery systems
    Knowledgeable in industry drafting and design standardsassociated with detailing and construction document development
    Fully knowledgeable with application of codes and standardsfor building structures
    Understands differences between Design-Build and otherproject delivery methods
    Ability to work with global teams and/or multi-officeproject execution is desirable
    Registration/licensure is required as either a ProfessionalEngineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) (preferred)
    LEED AP or GA a plus
