RN ICU Per Diem Tier I Days Position Summary
Deliver direct nursing care following established policies and procedures of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Record and communicate patient condition as necessary.
- Act as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge needs with the healthcare team.
- Conduct assessments following a systematic approach that includes various factors beyond just physical data.
- Initial assessment
- Re-assessment
- Focused assessment based on patient condition, setting, and population
- Identify health conditions or needs based on clinical judgment.
- Develop measurable short- and long-term goals with the patient and family.
- Implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Establish daily goals with the patient and family
- Create a care plan
- Plan for transition or discharge
- Ensure patient safety
- Administer medications
- Provide ordered treatments
- Educate patient/family
- Offer nursing care
- Document healthcare records
- Continuously evaluate patient's status and nursing care effectiveness.

THE RN ICU PER DIEM TIER I DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
License Required: Current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license with the ability to obtain Arizona License within 30 days.
Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
Certification Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or other department-specific certifications.
EDUCATION
Required: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: No prior experience necessary
