- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly menus that accommodate employees' dietary needs and preferences.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
- Ensure a welcoming and comfortable dining atmosphere.
- Address and resolve customer/employee feedback and concerns promptly.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols to meet sanitation standards.
- Ensure the proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Monitor and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, including food handling, storage, and temperature control.
- Collaborate with relevant regulatory agencies as necessary.
- Foster teamwork, productivity, and a positive work environment.
- Assess staffing needs and recruit staff by partnering with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, providing training, and managing food service/housekeeping staff.
- Establish standards for staff performance and customer service.
- Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety.
- Record the number, type, and cost of items sold to determine which items may be unpopular or less profitable.
- Monitor budgets and payroll records and review financial transactions to ensure expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
- Scheduling employee work hours to ensure that all shifts are adequately covered.
- Reviewing and submitting timesheets for payroll and maintaining employment records.
- Ensuring that customers are served quality food on time.
- Regularly inspect all work areas to ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations.
- Taking inventory of food supplies and other consumables, ordering necessary supplies as needed, and receiving deliveries.
- Reviewing sales records to determine which menu items are most preferred and profitable.
- As needed, arrange cleaning and maintenance services, including trash removal, pest control, deep cleaning, and equipment maintenance.
- Schedule use of facilities or catering services for events such as banquets or receptions and negotiate details of arrangements with vendors.
- High school diploma or GED.
- A bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management, food service management, or a related field is preferred.
- Food protection manager certification (FPMC) or Foodservice Management Professional (FMP) accreditation is advantageous.
- Proven experience working in the food service industry and janitorial knowledge.
- Sound knowledge of labor laws, food health, janitorial, and safety regulations.
