    Job Description:


    As the Assistant Controller in the Oil and Gas Industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and accounting activities.

    Working closely with the Controller and other finance team members, you will contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls, while also providing strategic insights and analysis to support decision-making.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting:
    Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry regulations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.


    Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering and analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support business planning and decision-making

    Accounting Operations:
    Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.


    Internal Controls:
    Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct periodic reviews and audits to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.


    Financial Analysis:
    Perform financial analysis and variance analysis to identify key drivers of performance and trends. Provide recommendations to management for improving financial performance and operational efficiency.


    Tax Compliance:
    Assist in tax planning and compliance activities, including preparation of tax returns, provision calculations, and communication with external tax advisors

    Team Leadership:
    Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.


    Qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

    Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
    Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
    Experience with accounting software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
    Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
