- Develop and conducts Continuing Education programs for clinical staff.
- Conduct mandatory in-services for all staff.
- Conducts orientation program for new staff and coordinates a smooth transition to team with direct supervisors.
- Follow and evaluate newly employed nursing staff after the orientation period, conduct extra orientation if necessary, and recommend an extension of probation, or termination as indicated.
- Conduct and/or coordinator formal and informal education activities.
- Conducts ongoing education on EMR and new policies implemented within the organization.
- Conduct field visits with Nurses to assess competencies and provide clinical support.
- Ensure that staff attends in-services and keep track of staff attendance of in-service.
- Assist in nursing staff recruitment by interviewing and recommending applicants for employment.
- Develop and implement focused clinical studies, maintain database, and produce written reports to support conclusions.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department on Infection Control for updates and current practice to ensure all staff are educated.
- Develop and implement an annual nurse competency assessment program.
- Contribute to the development and revision of clinical policies and procedures, and educational and training materials.
- Participate in Quality Assessment activities including chart audits, vendor audits, and environmental safety.
- Participate in performance improvements project and committee
- Participate in special activities of the department and institutional as assigned.
- Only act within the scope of the individuals authority to practice.
- Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by the PACE organization before working independently.
- Minimum of five (5+) years of experience conducting training classes or as an Education Coordinator in a healthcare facility.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with a frail or elderly population or, if the individual has less than one (1) year of experience but meets all other requirements, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
- Be legally authorized (for example, currently licensed, registered, or certified if applicable) to practice in the State in which the healthcare professional will perform the function.
- Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
- Must have excellent written and computer skills.
- Standing Duration of up to 6 hours a day.
- Sitting/Stationary positions Sedentary position in duration of up to 6-8 hours a day for consecutive hours/periods.
- Lifting/Push/Pull Up to 50 pounds of equipment, baggage, supplies, and ability to lift patients safely and using OSHA guidelines, etc.
- Bending/Squatting Must be able to safely bend or squat to care for patients, use medical supplies, etc.
- Stairs/Steps/Walking/Climbing Must be able to safely maneuver stairs, climb up/down, and walk to access work areas Position requires the individual to be able to travel, and walk between sites/locations and work areas throughout the day.
- Agility/Fine Motor Skills - Must demonstrate agility and fine motor skills to operate and activate equipment, devices, instruments, and tools (ie. typing, use of medical supplies, equipment, etc.)
- Sight/Visual Requirements Must be able to visually assess patients, read orders type/write documentation, etc. with accuracy.
- Audio Hearing and Motor Skills (language) Requirements Must be able to listen attentively and document information from patients, community members, providers, etc., and intake information through audio processing with accuracy. In addition, must be able to speak comfortably and clearly with language motor skills for customers to understand the individual.
- Cognitive Ability Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making, reasonableness, cognitive ability, rational processing, and analysis to satisfy essential functions of the job.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Nurse Educator will be driven by creating a learning experience that is as unique as those we are providing this resource to. And will apply the basic learning principles to develop a strategic education plan by reviewing the following areas:
The education department will work with the leaders of each area or identified subject matter experts to ensure that there is the development of a standardized/systematic curriculum that can be modeled after and re-enforced. Develop a targeted evaluation that will support fact findings and determine the need for prioritization of educational programs offering employees training and continuing education opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing; Master's Degree, preferred.
Experience:
