Responsibilities

This Principal Data Mining Specialist position supports the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) and is responsible for leading the development of data models, processes, and methods to perform cyber threat trend analysis and support intelligence fusion.

Leverages analysis tools including Splunk and Jira.

Provides advanced technical support in the research, experimentation, business analysis and use of systems technology including architecture, integration capabilities and database management.

Develops the end-to-end vision and the logical design that translates into physical databases, and how the data will flow through the successive stages involved.

Knowledgeable of and practices a wider range of data administration skills, often in a Business Process Reengineering context. Participates in strategic data planning, including development and implementation of policies, standards, and procedures. Understands data from the perspective of data processing and in the context of different life-cycle phases.

Activities may include data quality engineering, metadata consolidation and integration, metamodel development and maintenance, repository management, data warehouse design and data mining, data security administration, and formulation of enterprise-specific data metrics.

Uses Jira to track analysis tasks and communicate status. Uses Columbo, the DAD, and Splunk to ingest, manage, and fuse multiple intelligence streams and perform analysis. Uses Goldrush as required in place of Jira.

Qualifications

16+ years relevant experience with BS/BA; or 14+ years with MS/MA or 10+ years with

Ph.
D

Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Migration specialist or similar role
Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
Expertise in SQL and Oracle
Familiarity with data visualization tools
Proven analytical skills
Problem-solving attitude

Colorado Salary Minimum:
$105,788.80

Colorado Salary Maximum:
$226,179.20 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peratons total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
