    Position Summary Description

    The Financial Analyst I supports the Treasury & Planning department with the following duties: analyze current and past financial data and performance; prepare financial reports and projections; evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation; provide investment, leasing and breakeven analysis; prepare and monitor debt compliance matters; analyze trends in financial performance and provides recommendations for improvement; preparation of rating agency presentations; financial modeling and forecasting.

    Essential Functions

    • Maintains documentations and records of financial transactions and monitors compliance with covenants, terms and conditions.
    • Performs special studies and analysis of proposed financing transactions.
    • Assists in identifying available sources of financing and performing various assignments as given pertaining to operational and financial transactions.
    • Analyzes financial status of potential and current vendors and prepares responses to requests for credit information.
    • Performs cost and cash flow analysis as required with respect to operations and capital projects.
    • Prepares documentation related to debt service payments.
    • Assists in the evaluation and structuring of alternative financing for assets.
    • Prepares financial reports and analysis for management decision-making purposes.
    • Assists in the preparation of loan applications.
    • Maintains finance library and financing documents.
    • Assists in developing and implementing plans for the acquisition of capital needed for the Operations and Generation and Transmission expansion programs, analyzing replacement security for Letters of Credit and placement of permanent debt for assets financed on short term basis.
    • Prepares annual work plan and capital, cash and operating budgets; reports actual to budget variances and recommends corrective action as necessary.
    • Assists in the development of the intermediate and long-range financial forecasts.
    • Provides monthly Board Report contributions and debt services reports.
    • Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business equivalent is required. Training in financial management or an advanced accounting or finance degree is desirable. Electrical utility or related industries experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

    Working Conditions

    Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment.
