- Performs month end close and balance sheet and revenue report reconciliation
- Enforces company accounting policies and internal controls in accordance with acceptable accounting principles
- Assists in establishing and maintaining policies, procedures and practices relating to the management of accounting related functions emphasizing on accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit policies
- Performs bank reconciliations for checking account(s), makes bank deposits and maintains cash balance
- Creates monthly journal entries and various journal postings
- Performs analysis of general ledger accounts
- Manages lien process and communicates with outside counsel
- Assists subordinate accounting personnel in the utilization of procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services
- Identifies financial business processes that can be improved through technology and build solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs
- Maintains accounting records and assists with other accounting functions such as taxes, monthly and yearly financial reports and statements
- Creates and maintains various accounting related reports as required by management or government agencies
- Develops rapport and mutually beneficial relationships with customers and vendors
- Prepares, prints and mails checks according to payment schedules

- Inputs and analyzes data in ERP system and creates reports

- Requires knowledge of and the development of proficiency in MRP/ERP (M2K) software

Summary
Under the direction of the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for preparing, examining and analyzing accounting records and financial statements for accuracy and completeness while balancing and maintaining general ledger accounts, including cash, and supervising accounts receivable and accounts payable; ensuring deadlines are met and processes are performed in accordance with acceptable accounting principles and company procedures and policies.
