The University of Tennessee Foundation is seeking an Assistant, Associate or Director of External Relations for the McClung Museum in Knoxville, Tennessee.
to set and carry out fundraising strategy for the museum including:
annual giving, events based fundraising, major gifts fundraising, grant writing, , planned giving strategy, and sponsorships.
The position implements a comprehensive donor strategy for the museum—which includes, but is not limited to, identifying, cultivating, strategizing, soliciting, negotiating, and stewarding donor prospects to secure financial support and gift-in-kind donations to the University's McClung Museum.
This position will plan/host stewardship and fundraising events and provide a donor-centered focus to marketing efforts and implement strategies to increase exposure of the museum.
Other duties include budget management, reporting and oversight of the museum's membership/annual giving program and staff liaison for the Museum Advisory Board.
The Foundation is an interdependent nonprofit corporation that enriches the lives of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee through alumni engagement, financial stewardship and private investments.
Knoxville sits at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains.With a variety of outdoor activities, parks and recreation, Knoxville can provide a top notch outdoors recreational experience to nature lovers.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's preferred.
Assistant Director – BS with 3 years of relevant experience; MS with 1 year of relevant experience as listed below.
Associate Director – BS with 4 years' experience or MS with 2 years of experience as listed below. Director – BS with 5 years' experience or MS with 3 years of experience as listed below. Title will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The ideal candidate will be highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Skills & Abilities :
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are necessary.
Strong presentation skills, self-confidence and motivation, attentiveness to detail, sensitivity to the needs of diverse constituencies, and a strong, goal-oriented work ethic are required.
A proven ability to prioritize and manage complex projects and to work in a fast-paced team environment and the ability and willingness to travel extensively are necessary.
