    Job Description

    Job DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY: The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring the incoming condition of supplier materials. The Technician's accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    1. Ability to work safely around material handling equipment and abide by all safety rules and PPE requirements
    2. Monitor and Evaluate the condition of incoming supplier shipments
    3. Track supplier issues and maintain metrics to display performance
    4. Manage and maintain supplier communication regarding non-conforming shipments
    5. Via e-mail
    6. Via telephone
    7. Respond to supplier non-conformances when alerted by the Receiving Department
    8. Report supplier non-conformances to the customer, Wixom Plant Manager and other designated employees via e-mail, including:
    9. Verbal description of the non-conformance
    10. Written description of the non-conformance by following Company non-conformance process
    11. Photographs of the non-conformances
    12. Manage Quality Hold Areas
    13. Manage load report process
    14. Tag non-conformances and ensure routing to the next required process step for repair
    15. Light repair of non-conformances (usually taping of boxes, helping restack boxes, etc.)
    16. Assist in cleanup of spilled and/or broken containers (picking up fasteners, etc.)
    17. Maintain a log of identified non-conformances
    18. Performs other duties as assigned
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    1. Safe work history around material handling equipment
    2. Great attendance record (both absences and tardiness)
    3. Self-directed worker
    4. Ability to perform accurate visual inspections
